After studying chemistry and working in HIV drug research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, I realized talking to people about science was far more interesting than doing it. A graduate degree in science journalism afforded the perfect opportunity to do just that. I have been a science writer since 2001 and have been closely following and writing about AIDS vaccine research and development since 2005.
