What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication feeds, or RSS for short, are free, subscription-based content feeds from online sources. RSS feeds often contain a variety of content, including news headlines, press releases, blog entries, videos or podcasts.

Why use RSS?
RSS is a convenient way to get frequently updated content delivered directly to your computer. RSS feeds save you the trouble of having to visit multiple websites and proactively aggregate and send new content to one central location.

How do I use RSS?
To use RSS, you'll need a news reader capable of displaying RSS feeds. Many web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox) have news aggregators built in. Some web browsers will automatically alert you when an RSS feed is available on a web site. There are also free stand-alone programs and web-based programs (such as Google Reader) available for reading RSS feeds. A list of news readers can be found in Google Directory. Once you have a news reader, simply subscribe to the feeds you wish to read.
