This database provides information about the clinical trials of preventive AIDS vaccine candidates—those intended for individuals who are not infected with HIV—that are designed to prevent HIV infection or disease. This database does not have any information on clinical trials to evaluate the therapeutic effects of AIDS vaccine candidates in people who are already HIV infected.

Information on the trials and candidates in the database is updated regularly in collaboration with several organizations and individuals involved in this work. If you would like to supplement or correct information for a trial or vaccine cadidate, or if you notice any trials or candidates that are omitted, please don't hesitate to contact us at iavireport@iavi.org.
